Humidity Control
There are a couple of ways in which to supply humidity to your cigars. One option is a humistat, made specifically for keeping cigars and is included in most wooden humidors. Otherwise, placing a damp (not wet) piece of papertowel or sponge in your humidor will produce the same effect. The goal is to keep the cigars from drying up without making them soggy; too much water will cause an uneven burn, and can have an adverse affect on the taste. The ideal humidity is between 60% and 70% depending on your personal preference. A Hygrometer (humidity gauge) will help you maintain a constant percentage, and many have a thermometer built into it for temperature control as well.
